Learning to receive

Emotional intelligence - using emotions as problem solvers

Our EQ (Emotional Intelligence), is just as important as our IQ. Learning to manage and problem solve with our own thoughts and emotions can be far more empowering than letting  them take over our lives. Learn interactive therapeutic techniques on how to improve your EQ.

Mindful Meditation

This non-religious, scientifically based Meditation allows us to manage our stresses on our central nervous system, brain, body, thoughts and emotions. You don’t have to “clear your mind” to meditate, just learn how to work with the natural processes of your brain.

Belly Dance & Hula Hooping

Learn to enjoy your body! You do not need any experience with dance or the other topics. Charity’s beginner mini movement workshops are all about expression, not perfection. Have fun, laugh and feel like a kid again!

Art Therapy Workshop: "Thoughtful Painting"

Additional Cost: $10 to cover cost of paint and canvas, which you will be able to keep or give away as a gift

Description: Join us for a lesson in creative stress release. During this workshop you will learn the basic fundamentals of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while crafting a beautiful and unique meditative piece of art.

All skill levels are welcome to attend and no painting skills are necessary! All that is needed, is a desire to create while learning about the body and mind connection.

During this workshop you will create a meditative painting, intended to capture your positive thoughts, energy and emotion. The painting you create can then be used for meditation centering/re-centering.

This workshop is designed to explore our thoughts and their influences over our emotions and behaviors. You will learn how to identify and categorize different negative styles of thinking and how to challenge your negative thoughts and cognitive distortions to promote a healthier and balanced mind, body and soul.

What’s included in this workshop:

Each person will be supplied with an 11 x 14 canvas, paint, paint brush, easel, apron, paper plate, plastic cup and napkins.

What to wear:  Anything you don’t mind getting paint on… we will get messy!

Wendy Pellerito's Workshops

night hike - Bullfrog serenade

Take a short hike with Wendy in the dark, down to the pond to listen to the bullfrogs.  Their very loud low-pitched two-part bellow is impressive as they establish their territories and attract their mates.  Wendy promises that you will not be disappointed with nature's after dark concert.  Please bring either a headlamp or flashlight and a sense of adventure.

Nature Lover’s Hike - a Healthy Addiction

The benefits of spending time in nature are tremendous.  It’s Wendy’s addiction and she would love to share her love for nature with you.  You will look for wildflowers, wildlife and wild edibles.  We will also take some time to listen to our surroundings with a brief time of meditation.  Optional: Bring your camera or phone and Wendy will share a few photography tips on capturing beautiful moments in nature. Heather Glidden's Workshops

Play time for grown ups!

When was the last time you allowed yourself to play?  Between busy schedules, stress, and responsibilities, we often don't let ourselves play as grown-ups, but play allows us to learn better, relax, connect with other people and ourselves, and just plain be silly and have fun.  Are you ready to reconnect to your silly side?  Join us for guided movement games and exploration.  We'll practice having fun together in a supportive environment.   Laughter guaranteed!

Gyrokinesis

Morning Gyrokinesis - Offer your body the gift of deep caring and gratitude with this gentle "wake-up" class.  We'll begin with a series of self-massage and progress to flowing sequences of movement coordinated with breath to leave you feeling calm, grounded, and fully present in your body. http://heatherglidden.com/

Heather Glidden is continually amazed by the transformative power of movement. This potential for transformation has been the driving force behind her work since she began teaching in 2004.  She believes that true health is multi-dimensional, and she works with her students to discover how their movement training can best serve their overall wellness.  Heather's sessions use the Gyrotonic methodology as their framework but may also incorporate elements of massage, dance, Pilates, or life coaching as needed.
